Fujitsu Workplace Protect Face Recognition Best Practices on Q704

The Fujitsu STYLISTIC Q704 hybrid tablet has many security features delivered through the Workplace Protect solution.

The device has two biometric devices:

  • Fingerprint Sensor
  • Face Recognition

Due to fingerprint scanner problems with Q704, I chose the Face Recognition as my primary biometric verification method.

Best Practices

  • If you use eyeglasses, do not enable blink detection. The recognition may fail or become unreliable.
  • Enable automatic screen lock by checking the Lock the session if I am no longer in front of this computer if you have the habit of leaving desk.
  • Since the webcam wakes up and checks image periodically (blue led) for automatic screen lock, it drains the battery faster. Avoid it if you rely on your battery life.

Concerns

Face recognition is c00l. But how do I know whether someone is watching or not? I get uneasy whenever I see the blue led on…
